i installed gta iv . game is running at 800x600 resolution and cant change resolution . it gives a message that your graphic memory is near to exceed . but its just showing 256mb is used of total graphic ( 4gb total) memory .

Solution
Problem is if your GPU has more tha 2GB ram GTA4 will recognize it as LESS THAN 2GB which is bad. Luckily there is a fix, i had the same problem with R9 290 GPU. Just right click on the icon of GTA4 go to properties and in the Shortcut tab paste " -nomemrestrict -norestrictions" without " after the GTA4 exe.
So it will look like this: "D:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -nomemrestrict -norestrictions
