pci power cord

So I just bought a gtx 660, and after putting it in to the slot i realised i had not pci power cord thingy (excuse me not knowing the terms). Can this be the case, can psu's not have 6 pin pci cords or have i just not found it yet. If it dosent have one, I will have to buy a new psu :(

Thats a silver box-o-doom. Found an Ebay listing for one that included the load table, a 13A and 8A 12V rail do not make a 500W PSU, they don't even make a 300W PSU. You ordered the PSU without a GPU i assume, so they just stuck whatever the cheapest POS they could get their hands on in there. Get that PSU out of there and reassign it to its only true role in life, doorstop....
