Hi I am new here and just looking for some help.My friend has a drift car and was asking me about putting a computer and monitor in his car to display fuel levels,rpm,boost pressure,water temp,oil temp,oil pressure etc.if its possible and how hard would it be to do?just want to get as much information on this as possible hardware and software.Any input would be appreciated thanks alot guys.

You are kinda talking about two different telematics here.
What you listed above is really very basic data. Using a computer to read and display that data is like using a computer and monitor as a dedicated device to display the time. Lets face it, a $1.99 clock and AA battery will do the job much better.

2 way telemetry and communication on a race car is old news, but a little bit pointless on a drift car. Unless you're one of the top drifters in the world. In that case, you won't be on Toms asking, you'd be using a professionally made telemetry system and dash.

Maybe ask around the pits and see what experienced drifters are using.

Terrible idea. Have you seen what the average purpose built drift car looks like? Bumpers half hanging off, secured with zip ties, gutted interior etc. They live hard lives, and a computer and monitor is a terrible replacement for a set of quality gauges.
