Fractal Design R4 Fans

Just a general question to you guys, I'm stuck between choosing CM 690 III or fractal design r4. I'm looking for optimal airflow so planning ahead what cases have a better fan setup.

What fan setup do you use for your r4 that provides good airflow? What fans do you use? Do you use the fan controller, and if not is there any reason against it? I'd be planning on using it so i'll need to find fans that can go down to 5v. Any suggestions?

well, the r4 is made to be quiet, the CM will do better for airflow, albeit being louder

I've had a look at that video, I'm just not sure of the optimal fan setup, i.e. what fans to use, and whether to use the inbuilt fan controllr or just connect all my fans to my mobo headers.

That would be your choice , but the case is one of the best in it's class.

If it were your build, what would you do? I'm a first time builder so any advice helps me a ton.

My board has enough headers for my fans , so I use the board to power them.

Do you use PWM fans? If not, how do you control them?

No PWM's for me , but plenty of builders like to use them.

Okay so they all run at full speed. Last question, are you using the r4? If so, whats sound levels like, if not, just ignore this.

Thank you very much for the help.

Really love that cpu cooler. Boasts great reviews but struggled to find it here in UK without getting ripped off. I went with the dark rock pro 3 which shouldn't dissapoint. Looks good and also boasts good reviews.
