I just seated a different mobo into my old computer case in placement of my previous one which died (to note, my old 7850 also died but I got a replacement 'refurbished' on today). I hooked up all the necessary connections and booted it up for the first time, IT WORKED, and I was so happy.
But after I restarted the computer (to finish installing my catalyst driver) my AVG virus protection came up with an alert for both 'cmd.exe' and some other file. I told it to block and it blocked the first and deleted the next. Now I went to games, I started runescape and it worked fine after an initial choppy start, but after a restart and change of settings it ran well. This is where the problem comes up; I then started up CS:GO, changed the settings to max and started up a bot game. It was completely fine till about 5 seconds into the game the screen froze, a weird artifact appeared (and then more) and my speakers went to just random noise... and it shut off.... but began to turn on again. So I went for the power supply switch and turn that off, but whenever I turned the power back on the computer would just begin to turn on (which was both weird and annoying).
Currently I'm on the exact computer, running only on integrated graphics (i3-2100 cpu) because whenever I seat in my gpu and try to boot it will turn on but the computer will not beep, the keyboard will not light, and nothing displays on the screen.
Obviously it is a problem with the hd7850 that I just got, I just want to know if it's already dead somehow or if it's just a compatibility thing that I'm not getting and I was just so lucky enough to boot it the first time. Do I really have to RMA the replacement I JUST got?
Edit: I read on a diff of something similar, they said that it booted fine as long as the gpu wasn't hooked up with the psu, I'm just confirming this with me... fairly sure my gpu is just dead...
