Hey all. My brother turned 16 last summer and worked to save up about 800 bucks and built himself a rig.

The problem is that games crash almost inevitably, and blue screens are common enough to be half expected at this point.

The specs are:
i5 3.40GHz Quad Core
8GB RAM Patriot
GeForce GTX 760,
MSI military class III,
600W thermaltake tr2
cooler master cpu cooler.

This is all second hand, so if you need clarification I'll try my best to have a good turnaround time. I personally think it's the tr2, but I'd rather not buy a new PS without someone better informed than I am backing me up on that.

He's pissed and stressed out, and I just want to fix it for him at this point. Kid deserves a rig that works. Thanks in advance

Solution
Some things ya can try:

1. Note the time of any crash .... then open event viewer and look for warnings and such just prior to. Report back with message or google solutions.

2. Write down the stop error code, these have meaning for example: STOP 0 x 000000124 usually means CPU needs more voltage to be stable. Again, report back with message or google solutions. If ya PC is auto restarting before ya can wrote down the stop code, disable auto restart

3. Fine the *.dmp file oin your C drive. use Explorer, rt click ob C:| folder and select File Finder. Type in *.dmp and look for the latest one.

4. Upload the file to...

5. Run OCCT CPU test and monitor the voltage and temperatures .... look for anything that might cause concern ..... > 5% on 12v rail if CPU at stock speeds ...... temps > 75C. Do NOT run the OCCT PSU test on the TR2... it may not survive :).
