So I'm building my pc and was set on the fx 8320 but now that its time to order I'm having second thoughts. I was getting the 8320 because it was on sale 60 bucks cheaper than 8350, but i sadly missed the window :( . So now I'm wondering if i should go ahead with 8350 since its around a 40 buck difference.
Planning on playing games on ultra or high. Games such as BF4, Titanfall, Watch Dogs, and maybe witcher 3 in the future.

I am getting an after market cooler. GPU is GTX 770.
i am considering OC if it is worth it.
MOBO is Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard.

So yeah. Should i go the extra 40 bucks or am i just fine with stick with 8320.

More about : amd 8350 8320 worth extra bucks

Once Overclocked the FX 8320 can achieve the same frequencies as an OCd FX 8350 in quite a few cases. Though you would need a fairly decent motherboard and the Asus M5A97 R2.0 is not slouch but to maintain more stability in your OC than you might want a MB with a 990FX chipset and a beefier VRM design.

My bad wrong button. Did not mean to choose this as solution. ALso a 990fx chipset is out of my price range.

The best Budget Performance 990FX MB I can think of is the GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3. right now it is around $120- $130. Though The M5A97 R2.0 should get a fairly decent OC as well. I only recommended having a more robust VRM and power phase design as Some vendors with cheaper AM3+ motherboards have issues with 8 core CPUs even on the 970 chipset. Asus does not have any known issues on the 970 chipset and the ASUS M5A97 R2.0 is a solid choice by a quite a few FX 8320 users

So stick with 8320 or go 8350 with this R2.0 mobo?

FX 8320...it is cheaper and really petty much performs the same . I think the 8350 is like 5-10% faster in synthetic benchmarks. It is almost the exact same chip. The both are fairly high end and I imagine that Some FX 8320s are a even a better Bin than some FX 8350s
