Hello, I am building a PC for a friend of mine who is going to sell his consoles to switch to PC gaming due to my persuasiveness. He wants to spend less money as possible but still maintain good performance (High/Ultra with good fps) I am not going totry to spare on money for his GPU so I was thinking the 280x. I have the i5 4670k in my build but I think it would be appropriate to go with an FX-8350 in his case since it is way less expensive and as game developers start to take advantage of more cores in games it will only get better. Do you agree with this or should I just go with the 4670k? Also, if you think I should go with the 8350 for him, what board would you recommend?

considering we're debating which one would be better in this situation, yeah. it is pretty much exactly on point

"But if your friend does stuff like streaming or recording, then the 8350 would be more appropriate in my opinion. "

why would it be more appropriate if it is not better? all i asked is for you to susbstantiate your claim. saying it is "enjoyable" really brings nothing to the table.

we were told watchdogs liked to run on amd 8 core procesors. turns out the amd 8 core processors still cant hold up to i5.

so i wouldnt hold your breath on amd cpus being good for gaming.

do you really want to take the gamble? not to mention the plethora of games they *currently* arent great for.
