Looking for the Best Build in Terms of Value, Future-Proofing (~$1400 max)

So I'm a casual gamer, looking for decent specs at a good price. I'm also looking to build with future proofing in mind(I'd like to be able to upgrade in a few years once performance begins to decline). So my goal is to get the best possible value in terms of performance, budget any were from $1200-1400. I also would prefer a Intel build.

Reading online, the best value at CPU would be an i5, but which one of the series gets me the most for my money and has a good overclock potential? Or would the i7 be worth the extra $$$? And the GTX 770 seems like the GPU I want. Open to suggestions still.

In regards to future-proofing, I'm looking to put my money into the parts that seem to age the best (PSU, HSF, mobo?). So for those parts I'd be looking for maybe slightly better specs, hopefully good enough that when I'm forced to upgrade my CPU and VC, those don't need replacing (but still looking for a good value).

Approximate Purchase Date: Within the month.

Budget Range: ~$1200-1400 max, but I'd prefer to spend less if more cost effective.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming mainly

Are you buying a monitor: No.

Do you need to buy OS: No.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: No preference.

Location: Chicago, IL USA.

Parts Preferences: No preference.

Overclocking: Yes.

SLI or Crossfire: SLI in the future.

Additional Comments: Regarding the case, I'm looking for the cheapest, sturdiest option that gets the job done. A little room for upgrades doesn't hurt either.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

The way we are heading, this build should last the longest, which is why I am suggesting an AMD CPU, which will last longer in gaming over any i5.

AMD FX 8350; $189.99 (8350 over 8320 due to it's better overclocking capability)

This is an extreme build for the current price, Overclocking is also unbelievable with this setup, as the cooler and motherboard can get that CPU to 5GHz and above with decent temps.
