hi,

Recently i made a build with following specs..it is shutting down randomly. i even disabled anti-surge protection in mobo, updated all the drivers including mobo etc..using windows7 os, I've noticed that when ever i play 1080 movies and some small games it shuts down in between i am not using any ups for now and power fluctuations are rare in my place. please help me out, i am trying to figure out whats going on but cant find anything.

ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 motherboard,
fx 6300 processor(running with stock cooler temp around 45-48),
kingston 4gb ram ddr3,
Dell S2240l display,
corsair vs 450 psu,
haven't got any graphic card yet using integrated for now

thank you

I would suspect hardware is the issue, not software. Either PSU failing or motherboard. If you have access to another PSU that you can use for testing, I would try that first. Otherwise, you will have to start RMA'ing parts. I'd start with the MB first.

I presume you already eliminated overtemp as a problem? Checked CPU core temp during a run with a game or movie.

Check all your connections to be sure they are secure. One often overlooked area are 24 pin and 4/8 pin connections to the MB headers. If the plug isn't all the way in, it can work loose and loose connection. Check that the clips on the connectors are fully over the locking tab on the headers.
