Hey guys, I heard most modern games (BF4, Watch Dogs, etc) need at least 3GB VRAM to be able to run smoothly. and although both cards I listed above can run it on ultra with 2GB versions, I've read 2GB GPUs experience constant fps drops because of this.

Now, I'm planning on getting either of the two. I have no problems with turning off Anti-aliasing and putting some settings in high instead of ultra. will the 2GB 770 experience fps drops often? or should I go with the 4GB 760?

I'm leaning towards the 770 because I want my rig to be able to handle games years from now (hopefully) but if future games require at least 3GB VRAM, then should I go with the 4GB 760 instead?

Solution
Hey,

770 is a higher spec card [more pro than mid range]. The extra speed of the 770 should outweigh the extra 2gb of the 760. If your happy to turn AA ull be fine! I went from a 660 to a 670 in the past and it was the difference between Med/High and High/ultra

Hope this helps

yes because we base buying a video card on some poorly optimized game and still gtx 770 2GB will run it faster than 760 4GB

BF4 is best example of this. 760 @60fps - Med/High 770 @60fps - High/Ultra. @1080p 770 will beat the 4gb on everything your likely to throw at it

yes because the OP specifically mentioned watchdogs.
