this external hardisk is not accessible to any files and folder. how do I check disk to repair all the files also need to retrieve all the files from it.

Solution
Test it with SeaTools for Windows: http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/downloads/item/seatools-win-master/

If the drive has failed the test will tell you. You cannot fix a failed drive, and the only way to get data off it is to send it to a data recovery specialist service which costs a lot of money.

You should have backed up the data to a second drive instead of relying on just one drive.

Solution
I have replaced the pcb on drives before and was able to retrieve the data as last ditch effort. Sometime it is just the electronics of the enclosure that go bad. Pull the drive from the enclosure and attach it directly and give it a go. If still no luck try...

I would have suggested that but didn't because most external hard drives do not have standard SATA or IDE connectors on the drive unit. They have proprietary connectors on them now which don't match SATA or IDE plugs.

I've come across that problem myself on two Seagate and one WD external hard drive.
Still worth a try though. If it's a few years old it may have standard connectors on it.
