Better GPU for an insignificantly worse CPU. I didn't know your budget though so I guessed.

Solution
Seasonic has one of the best reps, they also make the XFX innards, so either of those would be my first pick. Corsair used to have Seasonic make their stuff but they've moved to a new OEM. Still a solid PSU so those would rank 3rd.

A 650-750watt would be more than enough for what your looking to do and give you room to CrossFire if you wanted to later.

Look at modular PSUs to make your life easy when your building, otherwise when you get to high wattage systems you end up with a freakin massive pile of cabling you have to deal with in your case.

No, the VS, CX, CS and RM series are poor quality plus you pay more for the Corsair brand name, look at the build I suggested.

Spend the extra $10 to go from the Vulcan memory to something like G.Skill or Crucial. Going with cheap memory rarely ever plays out well in the long run.

The PSU is right on the edge of the min requirement for the video card. You really want to bump that to a 600watt so you can have some head room.

I agree with the RAM, that was just something to fill the gap, however I disagree with the PSU, they recommend 550w but that is for a unit that can only put out, eg, 2/3 of it's rated load and has no voltage regulation and your system is running under stress with about 20 hard drives installed. I have a GTX 770 with a 550w PSU, no problem.

it´s never a bad thing to buy yourself some headroom on the psu though the difference can´t be more than 30$

That's impressive actually, your PSU must a quality unit. I've just seen and worked on too many computers that get problems from trying to squeeze too much juice for the video card and end up unstable. For the extra couple of bucks you get some headroom and piece of mind that your PSU (provided its not faulty) is going to do what you need it to do. Now if your tallking a $100 jump in price, yeah screw that. But if we're talking $20, its worth it. Plus if he decided to upgrade to a more powerful GPU or Crossfire it, he doesnt need to dish out the cash for whole new PSU.

Cooler Master, Antec HC, Enermax, EVGA? Don't skimp on a PSU.
