So i have one radeon 7990 card with asus z77 v lx motherboard, i5 3550 CPU and 12 gb RAM. All of this is connected with high power ep-700-br. In some games fps is too low for this card. For example in Watch Dogs i have around 15-50 fps. I think problem is in CPU - bottleneck. I want to buy an i7 3770. Is it enough? Or maybe problem is in PSU, minimum recommended PSU for radeon 7990 is 750W. Can u help me? Yeah, and in games for example Watch Dogs CPU usage is 95-100% and GPU usage is only 50%

Solution

Yes it is enough. it is the exact recommended by AMD that you need a 750W PSU which means you are good to go :)

Its always better to have more but yours works.

I hear that the HD 7990 have issues I was going to buy one but now am thinking to NOT. And also Watch dogs require better CPU than the one you have if you want it to run it at Ultra.

Thank you for you reply, but what do you think? I know the CPU is problem, but PSU is good enough or no?

Thanks a lot! My PSU is only 50W worse than recommended and it is ok. So as the final solution i need a better CPU. Is i7 3770 enough?

I would hold of buying the new CPU until the games updates come out, see how it runs on the new updates and then get it if needed

Get the i7 3770K it should be enough but REMEMBER to see how much power the new CPU need if the amount of Watt is larger than the one you already have then you may get a lower performance out of your GPU or CPU because of your PSU.
