Hi all,

I have had my studio desktop for about two years now and for convenience I usually leave it on during the day. The other day I turned it off to give it a rest and when I went to turn it back on I got no response. I looked inside and I have a yellow/amber light that was on on the motherboard and a green light on, which was located about half an inch below where the power cable is plugged in. I posted to a few other forums and they told me that I had to go out and by a whole new power supply, just to test whether or not my motherboard was functioning correctly. I am willing to spend some money, but I really do want to replace the power supply just to find out that i have to replace my motherboard too, at that point, I might as well just upgrade to a new computer. If anyone could help me I would be very appreciative.

Thank you in advance!

ok first things first first your motherboard is getting power since that light is on but to test the power suply unplug all the conectors on the computer side and then take the main 20/24 pin conector and using a paper clip and hte instructions here http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDArticles&op=Story&ndar_id=25 see if it will turn on, dont worry its safe as long as you use the right wires
