I want to connect my GTX 660 to my corsair cx750m.

At the moment I have a 6 pin PCI-e running from my GPU to a Type3 into the PSU. Have I done this correctly?

Thank you for your time.

Your PSU has PCIe cables designed to go straight to the card. No need for adapters.

Plugs into the proper header on the PSU: http://cwsmgmt.corsair.com/media/catalog/product/c/x/cx...

But should it be pcie 6 pin(GPU) to pcie 6+2 pin(PSU), rather than pcie 6 pin to type 3(which looks to be 7 pin) that I have now?

The 6+2 end is for the card. The one-piece end is for the PSU. If I am not understanding you correctly, please post a pick of your cable in question. Type 3 is a term I'm not familiar with. Is this a Euro PSU?
