There was recently a storm and my computer lost power. When the power came back on the computer wouldn't start. After about 20min it came on. Since then, it will run for a while then randomly shut off like it lost power. I tried cleaning it all out and I downloaded a heat monitor for the GPU and CPU and neither were too hot when it shut off this last time ( i was running a game so they were elevated but not terrible). The CPU was running at 49C and GPU1 was at 72C and GPU2 was in the 60's. I'm thinking the power supply was damaged but I've never had a problem like this and it was connected to a surge protector and nothing else on the surge protector appears to be damaged. Any ideas?

Also, ive had the pc two years no hardware changes or issues. the power supply itself feels hot but I dont normally touch it anytime its been running so I don't know if thats normal. Its a coolermaster 1300w

Yeah, the PSU is the first thing in the way between a power surge/drop and your PC. Good PSUs won't let it go any farther, absorbing the damage.

Future events like this can be avoided by having a good surge suppressor at the least between the PC and the wall. A full on UPS is best, especially the "Always On" types that can do line conditioning and deliver clean power. If your rig needs a 1.3kW PSU, a UPS is a very sound investment.
