Hi all,

I've done this before with you folks, and loved the results. I took a browse through the topics, and couldn't find something like this too immediately.

This is prompted by spec'ing out a new Mac Pro, you know the little trash can. It came in between 10-16k, depending on the monitor. I don't lean in either direction in terms of OS, but the form factor of the Mac Pro is extremely attractive. The mess of peripherals is not as much.

I'm looking for something that will allow me to render and keep working, multitask like a boss, and rip through the humongous files that keep getting bigger.

Let's say price is no object.

Thanks in advance!!

This might be a thought experiment or whatever company your working for has actually given you a blank check to make something, but its best to specify a budget.
Unlimited budget threads tend to evolve in one of two ways. Either it gets filled with trolls making the most expensive machine possible (Talking $3000 medical grade monitors just because) or the discussion becomes meaningless because there is always a way to one-up the last build since theirs no constraints on the rig.

EDIT: and dont specify something ludicrous like $20k, because the same problems still occur.
