Is this build going to work for gaming now and as new games are released through the rest of 2014 and into 2015? Note, I do not plan to over clock.

Since you don't plan to overclock, I find this build better.

Nice looking system, and it should be a nice gaming platform for the foreseeable future. I'd change a couple of things, though. First, get an SSD for your boot drive. For $60-70 (US) you can get one, and your computer will feel MUCH faster as a result. Second, if you like the HAF, do it, but you can save a good deal of money with something like the Fractal Design Arc Midi R2, and if you're not overclocking, or not overclocking much, you don't need the extra case fans. I like CA speakers better than same-priced Logitech stuff (they sound better to me). I'd go with a newer generation video card, and for $200-250 you've got some great choices, AMD or Nvidia.

Oh, and one other thing: If you replace the CM TX3 will a Hyper 212 Evo, you can easily and safely overclock your CPU to 4.2G. Without any other special cooling. I'm working on that config right now :)

I know that The ASRock H87 has an HDMI in so I can use my PS4 on a monitor as well as the PC, do you know if the H97 has the same thing?

It does. The R9-280X video card also has an HDMI, DVI, and DisplayPort.

To be a little clearer I don't plan to over clock any time soon but that's not to say it won't happen in the future. Does this build work? It seems to be like it is the best of what @Tukk and @Joseph DeGarmo have suggested.

If you're going to overclock with the 4670k, then you will need a z97 board.

Better, with two observations: You need the Z87/Z97 mainboard if you ever plan to overclock (and you will, if you're as goofy as the rest of us are), and you're still gonna want an SSD. If not now, soon. The Samsung EVO is sweet, but ANY 64-128G SSD will rock your world.

Good luck with the build!

You've used windows 8 before right? It's quite a change from windows 7, and the metro/tiles interface can get annoying. It is fixable though.

I wouldn't recommend an SSD as it's just an extra expense that doesn't improve the feel too much, as it literally ONLY makes the OS load up faster from a powered off/restarted state.

Are you kidding me? Running Windows on an HDD is like molasses compared to running it on an SSD.

Maybe on a 5400 RPM which is the kind of trashy HDD OEMs put in to PCs to save money.

SSDs are over rated.

With an HDD i get from powered off to desktop in 55 seconds.

It's really not that bad, and it certainly doesn't warrant spending $80-250 on an SSD.

On an SSD, Windows boots 2x faster on a SATA II connection (3 Gbps); 4x faster on SATA III (6 Gbps).

So?

Under a minute and I have a dual boot and an unoptimized system.

It only effects loading times that are already not an issue unless something is wrong with your computer.
