Hi there,

I am going to be using AutoCAD for studying and was in the middle of ordering a GTX 780 with 3GB ram when the 6GB version became available.I have now opted for the 6GB version and just wanted to know if I will see any benefit or have I just fallen for a marketing ploy?

regards

why didn't you go with a quadro card? for straight autocad, they're much better.

if it's a multiuse machine, then the 780 makes sense...
at a certain point VRAM is important... but for gaming or CAD the 3gb would have been plenty.

the only thing the 780 6gb makes sense for is if you're going to SLI 2/3/4 of them and run multiple 1440p or 4k monitors
