Hi, as above I need to create a fat32 partition on windows 7. Im trying to do this through disk management however unlike the guide on microsoft I get no option to select fat32, only ntfs shows up.

Im doing this because ive been advised to flash my bios due to a motherboard issue and can only do this on fat32 so need to partition and reinstall windows on the fat32.

Can someone advise how to do this please?

My drive is a 1gb hybrid ssd and im using Q-Flash on a gigabyte z77-d3h mobo which clearly states must use fat32 file system. Any other posts that actually answer the question would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

I doubt you do need to, as ex_bubblehead said and he is correct in saying Windows wont do it, but it is possible.

Technically FAT32 partitions can be up to 2TB.

I think what you are supposed to be doing is installing MSDOS on a flash drive along with a bios flashing software that will only run in protected mode. In this case you should be formatting a FLASH DRIVE as FAT32, not your main drive.

After this you should install FreeDOS from here: http://www.freedos.org/ and put it on the FAT32 drive. After that you will need to put some flashing software you probably have and the BIOS image on the drive.
The reboot, configuring your boot order as...
You cannot create a FAT32 volume larger than 32GB in any version of Windows released in the last 14 years, and there's absolutely no need whatsoever to be installing Windows on FAT32. I'd wager that you completely misread the instructions telling you that you need FAT32 on the external media used to flash the BIOS.

Re-read the instructions you are following they probably look more like this on closer inspection. If not, link us the instructions so we can investigate further.
