Samsung HD103SJ malfunction?

When I installed this older hdd to my new rig it started to do strange things. On boot, the system doesnt see the HDD in the BIOS boot menu. It says: "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key..." After CTRL+ALT+DEL reset, it appears on the SATA list and booth up just fine. However, sometimes I can hear it clicking on first boot. (Before reset) I can hear it spinning, but the system just doesnt see it on first boot. I tried switching SATA cables, and connecting to another SATA port, but nothing helped so far. Any suggestions?

this is a bit odd to say the least. I formatted a pendrive, copied the file to it, tried to boot it from bios, but instead of that the windows booted up. Should I use ASUS flash utility for this or thats just for MOBO update?
