Hello. Today I installed a Tul Powercolor HD7850 into my PC after my GeForce GT440 left me.

With that broken geforce i get the usual powerup-beep, with the hd7850 i dont. Everything is plugged in correctly, i think, but i can provide photos if you like.

System specs:

- psu: 500w apx switching sps-500xpe-p
- gpu: tul powercolor hd7850 1gb
- ram: 2x1gb ddr2
- cpu: intel core2 duo e4300 OC'd to 2,4ghz
- mobo: ms-7293vp
- 2 case fans, 1 psu fan, 1 cpu fan, 1 gpu fan (basically this thing has become a ventilator with some computing capacity to it :))

What i tried:
- 350w psu, 460w psu, 500w psu
- removed all components except cpu and put them back in one by one
- removed cmos battery
- tried with x amount of fans (they dont draw much power do they ?)
- umplugged all psus for 30min and tried again
- tried gpu on different motherboard (which might be broken, scrap pc lying around for a while, no post, but no post with that broken gt440 aswell [it's an asus abr mvp mobo])
- im using a 4pin to 6 pin psu pcie adaptor and tried that in all possible combinations

I reached a dead end here. I cant even get into bios. Ill try to get a spare trash gpu from somewhere to test the mobo (which is working i suspect) and ill ask around if any of the prople i know are still using a desktop to test the gpu (most are on laptops or.. Even.. Macs. Meh)

Any suggestions? Im not that hardware literate, unfortunately. Help me chaps! :) thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention that i dont get dvi output on either mobo with both gpus.

Also, i own a multimeter but dont know how to use it on PCs (i dont want no shorts). The psu must be working properly though, otherwise it wouldnt power hdd and cd, would it?

I have been able to verify that the pci slot is working. So the odds are the card is defective, or am i missing something obvious?

Edit: In the documentation it says it needs 4gig ram, i have only 2. Might that be an issue?

I tried everything mentioned in this wonderful troubleshoot guide (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/335272-31-troubleshooting-beep-post-display), still no success. Help please? :(

Edit: I have been able to verify that the gpu is working on another system with a 550w psu and an msi x58m. That rig had more peripherals attached than mine in my minimum test config, so the issue must be the mainboard (or the ram? unlikely? idk). I'll try to get a different one and post an update for anyone who might run into this issue in the future.

Edit2: Tried the gpu on an asus m4n68t v2 with 8gig ram. The machine boots but i get no video output. This is getting more and more weird.
