Will this Ram setup work? Or should I just sell it instead?

Hey guys,

I have 2X 4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz ram modules and 2X 1GB Corsair XMS3 1333Mhz Ram Modules.

My query is simple, can I run the vengeance ram in one channel and the XMS3 ram in another channel without bringing down the performance of the vengeance rams? In other words if all these 4 modules run in my system, will the vengeance's clock speed be brought down to 1333Mhz because of the XMS3's? or will both these sets of ram run individually without a problem?

Am I better of running 8GB in dual channel (i.e my vengeance modules alone) or 10GB ( vengeance + XMS3 modules) ?

Byw I have a triple channel motherboard, but I'll be running it on dual channel.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Honestly, you're not going to see much performance increase in games going from 1333 to 1600 and beyond--the only time faster RAM makes any difference is in programs like AutoCAD and other applications as such.

I wouldn't worry about selling them and just see how they work in your computer, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Alright then mate, I'll keep them and run 10GB to see if its worth it. Im particularly going to be testing watch dogs, so I hope the extra 2GN's make a difference.

Thank you!
