hey, im trying to OC i5 4670 on msi gaming g45 z87 motherboard

before i had an e8200 2.66GHz OC-ed to 3.7GHz stable, so im not completely new to overclocking

but with this bios from msi gaming motherboard i have no idea which settings i have to change

right now i have my i5 4670k slightly oc-ed to 4.2GHz with scythe ninja cooler. but im concerned about my temperatures. in idle they are below 30°C but when i run prime 95 they jump up to 70°C which is way to much in my opinion for only 4.2GHz.

maybe the problem is that motherboard gives to much voltage to cpu when stressed since everithing is set to auto??

im wondering which setting do i have to play with to get my cpu to higher frequency without heating so much

my specc

msi gaming g45 z87
i5 4670k with scythe ninja cooler
2x4GB g.skill tridentx cl10 2400 MHz
gtx 770
ssd 120GB

70's not bad, especially under Prime, You should be fine

but thats only when cpu is at 4.2GHz, thats just a minor overclock, I was thinking of overclocking it to at least 4.5-4.7

Try it and see what happens, that's the only way to see what the Ninja can handle, or even if the CPU can do better ;)
