I just bought a new laptop and since it was Windows 8 Before I downgraded to Windows 7, load it all up, everything runs great. I activated windows about 6 hours after I loaded Windows 7 and when I rebooted it, it got to "starting windows" and then gave me a blue screen with 0x000000A5 (add or subtract a zero).

I've looked at a few things and they said my BIOS isn't ACPI, what exactly can I do to fix this?

Laptop model: X551CAP
BIOS version: 209
OS: Previously Windows 8, currently Windows 7 64-bit

If there's anything else ya need to know hopefully I'll be able to answer.

The ACPI_BIOS_ERROR bug check has a value of 0x000000A5. This bug check indicates that the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) BIOS of the computer is not fully compliant with the ACPI specification.

Update your BIOS.

Take out the CMOS battery and wait 10 sec.
That will default your MOB. There may be a rest button on the system too.

Make sure all of your hardware is compatible.

If the error does not come back, it may have just been a glitch.

Make sure all of your hardware is compatible with Windows 7.

Update all of your drivers.

A drive may be having problems.

It can even be a damaged file.

Windows restore should fix that.
