If overclocking, i7 4770k. Else i7 4790 but the i7 4770 would still be ok.
Some programs AMD cpu are faster some Intel are quicker.
Overall Intel is better.

Hyper-threads aren't much of a benefit in gaming -- an i5 will work just as well.

No real good reason to buy the FX-9590 when the FX-8230 goes on sale for $140 or less each month, and will OC to 4.5GHz or so with good air and motherboard.
