Him I bought most of my pc pats back in Feb and back then the temps non OC were around 33-35 Idle with a CM 212 hyper evo and around 50s under full load.

With a 4.2ghz OC it was around 40 Idle and 60s under load

I finally got my thor v2 case and installed everything. I wasn't using my 212 hyper evo and the temps were around 43-44 idle and 75 under load, without a case.

I applied some more thermal paste via standard routine and applied a layer using a latex glove to spread it out and added my 212 hyper evo again.

Here are the non OC non turbo boost temps

I know it needs a couple days to cure, but this still is worrisome that past oc temps were lower than they are now even with a case.

You should check the airflow around the 212 hyper evo, it could affect the air pushed into the heatsink
Also, chek the CPU fan RPM, and try to increase to see if makes any result.
you shouldn't put too much thermal paste.

I have the 212 blow the hot air to to the top of the case, there is a case pointed at the heatsink blowing cooling air and a top fan cool air into the case as well. Also I have a side panel fan that circulates air and a bottom fan too.

if the 212 is blowing the hot air to the top and another fan in the top blowing air down, then you have a problem.
the heat of the heatsink out of the case instead of pushing it back again.

Ah the top fan exhausts air, it doesn't blow air into the case. So its gonna be something else. I am pretty sure I applied thermal paste well enough, heck the first time I did it I put too much on and still had lower temps. Although that was during winter time so that could be playing a role in higher temps, and my gpu that I just got back from RMA reaching high 80s under load.

I am using artic silver 5 with a Cool master hyper 212 evo

So I decided to enable turbo boost and my pc crashed. http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac13/Tehroth/stabilitytest_zpse658538d.png Aida64 temps reaching 80 degrees, and that's just from enabling turbo boost. I tried to use the automatic Oc Genie II to overclock and it won't even boot right so it just reset the OC to stock.

The click II bios won't let me manually OC every time I do it just resets it back to 3.4 ghz on boot. The only stable way so far that I've seen is non turbo boost non oc 3.4 ghz and even that runs at mid-high 60s under load. Very frustrating since the first time I tried to Oc the temps were way better. I put the appropriate thermal paste on there, the case has ample airflow and fans. Not sure what is wrong. Highest Cpu voltage it has gone is 1.2V

No its not, but I don't have a usb stick I can use to update. I did try doing it form the EXE. from the Z77a-g45 website, but it says its not compatible with the version of windows I am using.

I reapplied thermal paste once again using a dab in the middle. The idle temps are higher, but the under load temps are lower. I only changed the cpu core voltage to 1.29

Still though I can't figure out why I can't just manual Oc instead of changing Oc genie 2 settings, and although the temperature in the house is probably 80+ degrees(lol.) that under load 4.4ghz is way too high for my liking. I'll try to fiddle with the core voltage more, but it was crashing below what I have it now and I want at least a 4.4ghz OC.

Mind you the AS5 only had 2 days to cure because I did the manual paste spreading with a glove on Friday, and just redid the thermal paste like 2 hours ago. I am hoping once it cures; it will go down even more.

Argh I am sure I got a poop chip though. Not sure if flashing the bios would really make my temps and oc better. Here is at 4.2ghz 1.20volt(and I am sure it will BSOD, very slow to load some programs on startup)

Yeah, I'm not brave enough to do that. I think I got one of the worse Ocing cpus there is lol. Its pretty stable, but I get this weird startup lag where It won't load programs fast. Windows IE loads very slow like 45seconds to 2 minutes while chrome will load right away.

I hit around 73 Degrees under load, so maybe a hair more voltage downclocking to 4.0ghz.

Even at stock oc with turbo boost I am still getting this weird lag where programs take a minute to load, my network icon shows a loading icon on it, but google chrome works right away.
