Hello everyone!

I had my cpu OCed to 4.4 for a really long time, but now i found out that you can OC the Intel Turbo Boost so that the CPU doesnt run at 4.4 all the time, just when it gets out of idle, and im assuming thats a good thing, right?

The thing is, is that if i OC my CPU through the Turbo Boost method, if i change the vcore, the CPU will always run at 4.4, but if i leave the vcore in AUTO, it will go up to 4.4 when needed, but the thing is that the AUTO vcore is really high when it goes up to 4.4 (around 1.300) when i can use 1.200 that is a lot less just fine, but the thing is that the Turbo Boost wont work and it would be like a normal OC.

My questions here are, is it better to do the regular OC or the Turbo Boost OC? I use my computer for gaming. If Turbo Boost OC is better, is there a way to use the vcore i want without it OCing my CPU all the time? Is 1.200vcore too much? should i try to get it lower?

Thanks in advance!

What is SpeedStep? Never heard of it, i have to enable it on the BIOS or through software?

Thank you for your answer! (And remember im using 4.4ghz not 4.2, is 1.200vcore enough still?)

EDIT: Nevermind, i already found the option and it was already enabled, though it doesnt seem to be working as it should.

I have the same cpu sand motherboard as yours. I had mine currently oc to 4.7ghz. These are what I did. Change the multiplier to 47, enable cpu pll, disable turbo boost, core set to offset mode by changing to "normal" with offset at +0.09. Run prime95 and occt for stability test. Vcore max at 1.25v with max temp at 67C(room temp 26C).
