Hey all, after not being able to find anything after a few hours of searching I figure I better ask...

So, my computer will turn on, fans run at normal speed but nothing pops up on my screen.
I got the computer from a friend because he said his onboard display went out, so I was like alright, I can just put my Radeon 7790 in it. So I did, but the PSU on it doesn't have any 6-pin connectors so I used the 2 end molex to 1 end 6pin adapter that came with my GPU when I first got it.
The fans will spin up on the GPU but no display comes on.

After I turn on the PC, I can't hold the power button to turn it off either, I have to unplug it. When I unplug it, it makes a small beep then continues to shut off.

Any idea what the problem is guys? Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Brett.

first off if it a pre made dell or hp the power supply inside may be too low on wattage to boot your gpu. what the hardware of the parts you have. if it an older dell or hp the power supply may have failed on the pc.

The PSU i'm currently using max output is 300W. I read around seeing people power a 7850 and stuff off 250 watt so I figured it would work. I tried it on my 950 Watt PSU but I flipped the switch and hit power, and the fans revved at max speed constantly, still no display.

It's a stock eMachines. 6GB DDr2, Not sure what processor it has. 160 GB hard drive..

I do have a Mac OS 10.2 install disc if that could help me to boot any. :p
