Hi!

So, I want to transfer a large amount of files from my laptop to my desktop (you would be surprised how many gigs a flight sim takes :p). So, I have a 32GB flash drive formatted for my Xbox 360, but only ~9 gigs are actually used (GTA5). I was wondering if I could partition this flash drive even though I already have it formatted for the xbox without losing all my files.

Thanks for any help :D

Whilst you can have more than one partition on a pen drive, there has to be some "unallocated space" to accommodate it, but I assume your pen drive doesn't have any unallocated space, it probably has a single partition which fills the drive. If that's the case, you can't put a second partition on it.

You're welcome, that's why this forum exists.

Incidentally, I should add that it's unwise to store irreplaceable data on just one storage device, and especially if that device is a pen drive which can fail without any warning (the memory chips can fail and, unlike a hard drive, you get no warning of imminent failure).
