Hey all!
I got a hold of some decent RAM that should be compatible with my system. It's Wintec one 3 channel 12gb (3x4gb) 1600 RAM and I am replacing 6gb (3x2gb) 1333. Kind of a rookie at wrenching on my PC but figured it was worth a shot. Tried to just plug and go but win7 and geforce only shows 8gb installed (CPU-Z shows 12).
Did some research and went into BIOS to make some changes. Changed the frequency to 1600 and the clocks to 9 9 9 24 and rebooted. Got all 12 showing and thought I was set but a day later and I am blue screening and freezing up, getting overclock warnings on boot up or not booting up at all.
Trying to figure out where I might of gone wrong or if this memory just isn't going to work with my set up:
MOBO: MSI X58 Platinum SLI(MS-7522)
CPU: i7 920
Memory:Wintec One 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
