Hi guys I'm new here and to PC building in general.

Anyway problem, originally my issue was no display (Keyboard worked fans Drives etc.)

I ran through the guide provided by this site (all passed) and when that didn't work I looked at google, One solution was to reset the CMOS, well my motherboard guide (ASUS Z87) said to reset a "jumper" I did and now the PC starts up shuts down once the MB lights hit VGA_LED and then starts again and runs normal, but it now hangs on BOOT_DEVICE_LED basically I'm on my last nerve.

Please Help!

P.S

All parts are new and can't be RMA'd due to warranty constraints (except prossesor)

Try resetting the cmos without the jumper. Take the cmos battery out and leave it out for atleast 5 minutes, than put it back in. If you can't figure out how to remove the battery don't force it look it up on youtube, bunch of videos on it.

alright battery removed will respond back in a few minutes.

Could be a number of duff components. Try ram 1 at a time? could be the board, could be the psu.

tried the one ram strategy. no dice.

thanks, but I already did everything in this guide( to solve no display), then reset the CMOS after nothing worked leading to the above issue.

Did you move the jumper back to the original location after you jumped it. Also to properly use the jump you need to put it on the right pins turn on your pc then turn it back off and move it back to the original location.

I turned off the computer (unplugged as well) moved the cover thing from pins 1-2 to 2-3 for 15 seconds then put it back and started the computer. again.

Make sure to put the battery back in.

well duh. haha

When you move the cover thing to pins 2-3 you need to start the computer wait for about 15sec and turn the computer back off. Than move it back to pins 1-2 and start your computer normally and that should have reset your cmos.

sorry for the late response, I was at work. anyway I haven't had the Monitor connected since I reset the CMOS, I did try before switching between the MB graphics and the video card with no change. would it be worth trying again now?
