The RAM requirements for Watchdogs are 6GB RAM. Also, the graphics requirements for Watchdogs on Ultra is a GTX-780 or equivalent. So running Watchdogs on Ultra with a 770 and 4GB of RAM is not going to cut it.

I ran watch dogs everything maxed out with wc cooled gtx 770 and I ran it at a stable 60+ fps. Average fps was 73. My 770 didn't go above 35c.

Agreed with the comment above, plus your phenom is probably bottlenecking the 770, you may want to overclock it. Also watchdogs is pretty much cpu intensive game. Here in Tom's there was a topic you may want to check (as they advice people to use FX-6300 or i5 equivalent or higher)

good luck.

To the op: Your CPU is bottle-necking the GTX 770

Definitely agree with you. On average my i7 3820 was at %30-60 load oced to 5ghz, highest temp got to 38c.

First of all your CPU is not the best thing for gaming as it has a slow architecture but thats not your biggest problem. 4GB of ram is only enough if you have only the most basic background processes running and you play the game on low. 8GB is recommended for max. The third problem is the game - right now even 4gb cards struggle with Ultra textures so you have to wait for a patch.

I'm guessing getting another 4gb of ram will solve most of your issues, remember the GPU uses sis RAM to load textures so on ultra your ram is getting eaten by the gpu at certain points.

P.S. The game does eat that much RAM; I've tested.

It used all of my gpu's 4gb of ram at ultra and I left no background processes. I only had 300mb video ram left over while playing.

I was talking about system RAM in regards to background processes. Background stuff doesn't matter for GPU VRAM, only 3d applications like chrome.

Sorry, was going by fast :) . Responding to lots of threads. Didn't check my system ram as far as usage but the temps were fine. I was also happy with the performance of my components on ultra settings so I kept it at ultra. In my opinion as long as you are comfortable with the temps and performance keep it as high as it goes keeping an eye on especially your temps.

I have no issues with temps on Watch Dogs... Thats not the reason why his PC can't handle the game. Its mostly his system RAM,

System ram definitely and also possibly his cpu just a bit.

The FX-4170 on Ultra/GTX780 was bottlenecking things to 24 MIN, 33 Average.

Anyway, as said both the CPU and System Memory are issues and it's hard to say without more info which is most significant. I would say the CPU is actually most significant as it's common to have a MINIMUM System Memory recommendation that is higher than what the game actually requires.

Also, due to the way textures are buffered you need less on HIGH, and the 4GB graphics card will store textures that a 2GB card would otherwise offload to the System Memory.

He said the card was almost FULL of data so that's possibly 2GB that otherwise would have been copied into the System Memory though that's theoretical as I can't test this and don't know how the game is coded.

So, I suspect 4GB System RAM is probably just enough for HIGH with a GTX770 4GB card.

Not enough ram, 8gb sweet spot. And your cpu.

Notice the overclocked 4ghz 965 struggling.

Do know why when I turn on physX particles in assassin's creed black flag the game lagging too much and slow it decrease 20% of the speed?
Also when i turn the vsync the game die.
