Last week I took my computer to a friends house to edit a video. I used their monitor that was there seeing that it was nicer. I just put in a gtx 260 a few days before this and was not having any problems. Now when I brought the computer home and plugged it back into my old monitor, I get a blank screen with "Video mode not supported." I don't know if it is because I need to refresh the frame rate and change the resolution or if it is something else, but I can't get into safe mode or on "low-resolution mode" and change those settings. I've also tried the physical buttons on the monitors but no luck.

Key points:
- I can not get into safe mode, displays same error after showing the boot log
- Going into low resolution mode will get me to login screen and from there it goes blank
- I have went into bios and tried changing pci/pnp setup to intial start onboard and pci-e
- I've also tried using my dads monitor to see if it would change it.

Computer specs:
Windows 7
GeForce 7050M v2 mobo
bfg tech Gtx 260 video card
power supply is huge (forgot specs)
3gb ddr2 patriot x 2
hyundai L70s monitor (I know, I know)
Dads monitor- acer x203H
both monitors are vga and I have a dvi>Vga adapter on my video card

Any tips or suggestions is much appreciated. I am at a dead end and could really use my computer right now.

Thank you!

The resolution the monitor was set to at your friends house was higher than the one your monitor supports. Not really sure how to fix but that is most likely the problem. Try searching it on google. There must be a way to lower your resolution without being in system. Try booting from a flash drive into linux or ubuntu and see if it works.

I agree with i7Baby. The easiest way would be to go back to your friends monitor and scale your resolution back down.
