Hello gents.

I would like to SLI 2 x ASUS GTX 770. Currently my PSU is a XFX Core Edition PRO650W.
People say i need a tier 1 700W PSU, so do you think the above XFX 650W is pushing it?

In advance, thanks!

Hello,

I would suggest an 850W psu as 750W is the minimum for a Gtx 770 in SLI and also you might want to OC the CPU to get max performance out of it.
One of the best if not the best 850W PSU:

4Gb vram is indeed better but if you are gaming on a single 1080P monitor it isn't going to make much difference compared to 4Gb, only when you play at higher res.

So get a 850W psu and another Gtx 770 2Gb.

If you have an intel CPU you should be ok. However remember that SLI doesn't "add" VRAM from each card so i wouldn't recommend a 770SLI unless you get the 4gb version.

As long as the PSU outputs 650w AND you dont overclock the cards AT ALL you should be fine.

I only have the 2GB version :( So in theory, i could get the 4GB version and move the 2GB i currently have in the third PCI-E bay and slap them in SLI?

No, the 4 GB GPU card will act like the 2 GB one. You can't mix and match that way.

So the 4GB will "auto clock down" to 2GB? There is no cheating the VRAM?

The information going to the GPUs is mirrored. The 4 GB card can't have more than the 2 GB card can handle.

VRAM is a framebuffer issue, not a clock one. If you have an empty gallon container and an empty quart container and you have to put an identical amount of water in each, you're only going to be putting a quart at most in the gallon container.
