I am running a Gigabyte H77M-D3H motherboard which has an integrated graphics card with a maximum video resolution of 1900x1200. I need to use Windows XP due to the constraints of the software so I am limited to a motherboard replacement.
Is it possible to install a dedicated graphics card in my PC to make full use of the 2560x1440 resolution of my new S27B970D Monitor.
Any thoughts anyone?

with any separate GPU, that has it's own max digital/analog output capability, with almost all GPU's these days, they have the ability to display at a digital resolution of 3840x2160, so 1440p can easily be supported. Any GPU that has the output to support that resolution essentially can handle the resolution, but depending on what the card has to do (gaming) it will struggle.
