I'm a bit of a noob and would like to know if this CPU is compatible with the Mobo.

No, that motherboard is for 1150 socket CPUs and that CPU is 2011.

The answer is no but the do make a version of that mother board for that cpu.

Depends on what your building for. If its just a gaming system I would probably go with the 4770k and the z97 board.
If only gaming I would probably buy a I-5 4670k as gaming won't really utilize the 4770k.
But if doing editing or other things 4770k would be the correct processor choice.
