So I recently bought an H80i and the temps are ridicolous without overclocking. Like 10C idle and 25C under load.

So I decided to overclock and I can't get further than 3.76GHZ, after that the prime95 blend test just fails.

So first let me list my specs:
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P, Socket-AM3+
6100 FX AM3+
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 4GB CL9 12GB

The settings that I fail with are:
+0,100V on vcore
3,86ghz on vcore
Multiplier X16
RAM 1600 mhz Multiplier 6,66

I have tried increasing the voltage by a lot more and I just can't seem to get further. What more do I have to increase?

Here is an image of my current stable overclock:

Any idea what I have to change to get a stable overclock? My goal is about 4ghz

I doubt you've got a bad chip. What you could do is enter bios and increase your ram timings, for example: 9-9-9-24 to 11-11-11-27. As you overclock your cpu your ram is affected. Dunno why. Otherwise you can try to lower the memory clock.

You should be able to get atleast 300mhz without a voltage increase on the cpu.

@Romeru The ram is rated to go 1666mhz 9-9-9-24 1.5v It currently hasn't surpassed that. It is about 1590mhz at the moment. So the RAM should be able to handle it.

I understand I will have to turn up the RAM if I would want to go a lot higher. But at the moment the RAM is completely fine.

Try running intel burn test. It doesn't stress your ram as much by default. Or try any other test but blend in prime95.

@Romeru

I'll try that later as I am gaming right now.

But the thing is that I got bluescreens on my higher overclock anyway. I thought that it might be failing prime but real world scenario is still fine.

But after gaming for 15 minutes I bluescreened with an overclock higher than this.

The blend test in prime is accurate, why would I need to run another one?

It's not accurate. No game pushes the ram to it's limit like prime95 does. It all depends on what kind of stability you want. Anyway try it. Overclocking is experimenting.
