Not sure what card to upgrade to, currently have a gtx760 which isn't bad but I'm wanting to upgrade in the next month. What cards a good upgrade for £300-£350. I was drawn towards the gtx770 as I've always used Nvidia, but noticed the r9 290's are priced quite similar. Is there any difference? Also would a Radeon card work better with my amd CPU or does that not matter?
Or is there any other cards what are better for the same price?

Solution
Generally it doesnt matter. But Sapphire DOES have more reputation, so if anything go with Sapphire if you feel like spending a little bit more. Have fun :D.

AMD cards are faster in Radeon optimized games but Nvidia cards are faster in other games.

R9 290 should still not be compared to a gtx 770. And yes it's a lot faster.
Thank AMD for their amazing prices :D.

R9 290 and gtx 780 are pretty much identical in performance as it varies from game to game. Just go with the cheaper one. In this case it's probably the r9 290.

BUT ONLY IF IT'S WITH AN AFTERMARKET COOLER. Like sapphire or msi.

the main type of games i will be playing is, battlefield 3 and 4, watchdogs and thief, at the moment i get around 45/50 fps on high/ultra on those games.
im looking to be achieving around 70+ fps on ultra settings.

Well, thief and bf4 uses the mantle api from AMD which should give you an even better performance boost.

R9 290x is not worth the extra money. Tomshardware recently reviewed the powercolor version and it got nice temperatures and noise.

I'd go with Sapphire, msi or powercolor. Gigabyte and asus are fine too but they didn't get as good temperatures.

In this case go with Powercolor because it's a lot cheaper :).
