Does anyone know if anyone manufactures a form of "laptop" that is just the monitor , keyboard touchpad put together in laptop form and can be attached to a desktop like normal components would? i.e the laptop form would have a monitor cable, keyboard/mouse cable connecting to the desktop chassis? Just a laptop sized LCD monitor hinged to the keyboard/touchpad with no motherboard in it , just the connector ports? Does it exisit?

Such a device exists, but only in the server/rack-mount world. They are expensive, and probably not something you would want to just stick on a desk:
