My second drive is a Hitachi 1 terabyte and sometime, when waking from sleep, this drive isn't seen.
My assumption based on reading is that spin-up is too slow and outside the 10 second mark.
There is a hotfix (Msahci.sys) that is for error messages on primary disk due to slow spin-up. I hesitate to install this until I am certain that it will work and not effect my C: ssd.

Win 7, C: samsung 256 GB SSD

TIA,
Lew

What board do you have? I would first check the motherboard makers website to see if they do not have an update driver for your storage system.

Some boards have more than one disk controller as well(ie Intel + Marvel or Intel + Asmedia, ect. Make sure you know what controller the missing drive is on).

Your board seems to have 8 sata ports. 6(5 on board and one at the back as e-sata) from the Intel chipset and 2 from "Gsata" I think it is a re-branded Jmicron controller.

Are all the drives on the blue Intel ports. Can you try the drive that does not wake up on the White G-SATA port to see if it is any better. I am trying to find a controller that will be less sensitive to the spin up time. My slowest drive takes about 6 seconds to spin up, but it is only a 5400 rpm one.

Please do not move the boot drive because that can cause issues.
