my specs are
dual core e5700 @3.0 GHz
socket 775 LGA
mainboard model MS-7592
RAM 4.0 GB DDR3
i think i might have a pcie version 1.0 but i am not sure which graphics card will do best....

Solution
Like I said, HD 7750 with PSU. No more no less. The Hd 7750 is already struggling to run with a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution, anything less wouldn't be worth. Expect some screen tearing and lag.

Yes it will, but the performance will be degraded to pci-e 1.0 speeds.

If you want to look for a GPUs compatibility with your system, look out for 3 main things,
1. size
2. PSU
3. bottlenecks

1. The size of the GPU is important. If you have a small case and a big GPU, it definitely wouldn't fit, so check the GPU's measurements and measure how much room you can spare for a GPU

2. Your Power Supply, like all other components, can affect the performance of your PC. If you're looking for an entry-level GPU, a 400 watt PSU would be sufficient, move up the ladder, and you'll find your PC begging for a 500-600 watt PSU.

3. I'm not entirely sure how to specifically check if bottlenecks would occur, but basically, your CPU should be of the same price or tier as your GPU. The i3-4130 goes well with the HD 7750.

To find out how a system would perform you need to look out for 3 main things ( again XD )

1. screen resolution
2. GPU
3. CPU

1. The lower your screen resolution, the higher your FPS. Higher resolutions increase image size. You get higher FPS on lower res. because the GPU gets to fill up less pixels to fill the entire screen

2. Your GPU is the main component that affects your games. Better GPUs mean that they can create images ( frames ) faster. You experience lag because your GPU hasn't completed filling the screen with images

3. The CPU part isn't the most important as regular shooter games don't rely on CPU a lot. MMO-s and RTS-s require more computing as more figures and characters are spawned, so a slightly higher end CPU would be ideal. But there is still a reason to get a i5. It would help load applications faster and also help in video rendering
