Workstation/Gaming PC. First Try.

So, you know the drill. Im planning to build a PC for both gaming, and performance demanding editing: Unreal Engine 4, MODO, and so forth. I do NOT intend to do overclocking, I want to keep it safe, and I do NOT intend to use Crossfire.

The budget is arround 1500€ (2000$), so here I go:

The main question I have is about the mobo. So I've seen the "Z" prefix is for overclocking, but also that is the adequate for enthusiasts, gamers, so I don't know if I should downgrade to a H97 like Asus H97-PRO. In this case, I would also have to downgrade to a 1600 RAM instead of 1866.


Some input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yeah you should because you are not gonna OC.1600mhz should be fine.

I just read an article on memory scaling, after reading it I would even suggest 2133 as the new sweet spot. Would have to find it again and post it here for you a bit later.
