It's a bit more complicated than this but generally when you connect to your ISP they assign your connection an IP address. That connection connects to your wireless router. Your wireless router then assigns an IP address to each of the devices attached to the router, wirelss or wired. It needs to know where to send each packet so each device must have a unique address. When the router receives a packet from any device it forwards that packet to the ISP and the responses work in reverse order, recognizing which packet from the ISP needs to go to which connected device. That's the "routing" a router provides.

The IP address you see when using ipconfig is the address the router uses to communicate with that specific device. The IP address you see when using an internet service like ip2location.com is the one the ISP assigned to your connection because that's the address that is used at the ISP.

The only way you can get the same IP address on the internet side and the computer side is to buy one or more fixed IP addresses from your ISP. That is not a one-time charge but a recurring charge for as long as you hold those addresses. Contact yoru ISP for availability and pricing.

Thnkx for replying.....but few days ago this what not so.....both the ipconfig nd ip2location were showing same ip addesses.....I faced this problem once before also.....but it get corrected automatically.....this time I searched I lot on google.....but found nothing......but as you said....I about that routing. I just to ask one more question.....Do timezone affects ip address given by ISP. nd are their ny methods to bypass this routing other than purchasing a new static ip. All I want to use is dynamic ip..
