Hey,

If someone knows the answer to this then I would forever be thankful.

I built a new rig recently of semi good spec

Mobo - Asus Maximus Hero VI
CPU - Intel 4670K
Corsair H110 for CPU
8GB memory
GFX - MSI GTX 780TI 3GB
SSD & HD etc

Anyway system is fine have overclocked to 4.2Ghz no problems and I'm happy with my setup.

The only problem is that the case which is a Corsair Air540 seems to make some buzzing sounds and I can't flipping locate where it's coming from so I can do something to stop it. It's buzzing right now and freaking me out.

If i go over to the case and touch it slighly it stops. I've double checked screws replaced fan screws with the rubber anti-shock ones .. Have bought demicifilters which are fantastic from south africa to keep dust out.

Everything is great just can't sort out this strange buzzing sound.

I even called Corsair USA (Im in UK) and they don't have any idea. Just asked me to check basic stuff.. It seems to buzz intermittently..

I thought I'd post something on here hoping that someone has the same issue and managed to resolve it.

It's an annoying buzzing sound and as I said, if you move the case slightly it goes away. But where my case is positioned likes to buzz sometimes and I've had enough of

Idea ideas?

Thanks

Hi kozz
if you place a matt or dishcloth under the case , does the noise stop , it may be the whole case vibrating on your desk ?

is it a hard drive touching the case? is it mounted improperly?

From reading this. It may be a simple loose hardware inside your casing =p. Double check your bolt down?

Something is loose. A rolled up piece of paper, or an empty paper towel tube held to your ear. Point it at various locations to help localize the sound.

I've found that narrowing this down can be a bit time consuming. Make sure everything is mounted correctly (drives, PCI cards, fans, PSU etc), I've seen a few screws on vibration dampers that were too tight and caused problems. See if you can narrow down when the buzzing is occuring, light load, heavy load, dvd access, hdd access, etc. This might narrow down the components that could be causing it. Next step would be to disconnect components one by one and see when the buzzing goes away. Finally buzzing will sometimes occur because of the interaction of various components, the only fix for this is to move around your drives and fans if possible.
