I have a laptop with no DVI-D port (Dell Vostro 1540) and I'm considering buying Dell UltraSharp U2713HM. The monitors HDMI input supports only 1920x1080 resolution which would distort the image and would be waste of that expensive monitor.
So I was wondering, if it is possible to use HDMI to DVI-D adapter to be able to use the monitors native resolution (2560x1440).
According to Dells manual the laptop has these ports :
• one 15-pin VGA connector
• one 19-pin HDMI connector

Thanks for the help.
