Motherboard: Gigabyte AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gbps 1800 AMD GA-970A-UD3P
SSD: SanDisk Extreme II 120GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD
OS: Windows 8.1

I'm a new builder that just finished my first computer. Everything is running wonderfully, except now Windows only recognized my SSD (which I booted from) and not my HDD.

The confusing part is, when I was choosing which drive to install the OS onto (from a flash drive), both drives presented themselves as options. Now it's as if the HDD doesn't even exist.

I'm trying to figure out if I have to mess with the hardware or this is a software configuration.

If you look at the image of the motherboard here: https://geizhals.at/p/1025817.jpg

Of the 6 data ports on the bottom right hand corner, I believe I have one plugged into the top left and one plugged into the bottom right. Could that be the problem?

Thank you so much for the help in advance. This is 1 week into the project and I'm exhausted!
