Just wanted to see what you guys think?
I am a pretty heavy gamer and use a Evga gtx 780 ftw GPU.
my MB is a Asus P8777-V LK. 1155 socket
Right now i have a i5 3570K Overclocked to 4.3ghz.
I heard newer games with require a i7 quadcore for best results?
watch dogs for example.

Moving from an i5 to i7 of the same gen CPU ( 3rd ; Ivy ) won't really get you much of a performance boost. Both sre pretty much equal when it comes to gaming performance. If you move up a Gen to a Haswell i7 4770k and Z87 board, you would see a little difference, but don't know exactly how much. When I moved for the 2nd gen Sandy Bridge i7 2600k to the 4th Gen Haswell i7 4770k, there was a huge jump and that was before OCing. Newer games may require a quad core, but not not specifiaclly an i7 as, as I said, the prerformance is about the same as the i5 as far as gaming goes.

I was wrong for watch dogs it is using more threads not cores.
I am thinking from your reply that since i am at 4.3ghz with a quad core i5 that going to the 4770K is not a good idea at this point and would be a waste of $300?.
I guess i will wait until my next MB and decide thanks

Ok. I haven't gotten up to speed on Watch Dogs. Looks like something I would like to play, but haven't really looked into it. Most games don't even use up a Quad core. Actually the Z97 / H97 Motherboard will allow the use of the next gen CPUs ( Broadwell ) which are coming later this year.

No problem, yeah it is a great game(looks nice and has cool things to do ans is really fun) but it is so badly optimized right now that even guys with 780ti and dual titans are having problems!
