anyways thanks in advanced

okay so i had amd and i want to try intel since i have not yet and hear that intels better all the time so i will soon see lolz

cpu:
I7-4770
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116900

Motherboard:
BIOSTAR Hi-Fi B85S3+ Ver. 6
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138384

now i do not like using a stock cooler even tho people say i would be fine with the stock cooler
and chose this
will it be good with the cpu i choce or no?

Cooler:
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099

Graphics Card:
GeForce GTX 760 4GB

now just know that i already have all the parts listed except
the CPU/MOBO/CPU COOLER

so i cannot change the parts i listed except the cpu cooler or mobo the other parts listed are from my old build and they all work great tested them in my friends gaming rig so i will be using them

now will this build let me play
games like
BattleField 4
Guild wars 2
Call Of Duty Ghosts
Assasins creed 4
Farcry 3
Crysis 3
an other games like this
at high settings
i do not play on ultra no difference to me personally
and with no lag/stutter

also how will encoding be with this CPU compared to my one that fried which was the amd fx 8120

the AMD took about 1 hour to encode a 720 p 2 hour movie with megui
and a 20-30 min anime took 5-10 minutes with handbrake which was converting 1080 p to 720 p without loss of quality

what kinda time would i see with the I7-4770
just a rough estimate
is fine>?

and lastly can i encode videos and play games at the same time with no issues such as lag/stutter/or fps drop within the game an or pc and no random shutdowns?

and my budget is 400-500$ for CPU/Motherboard and CPU COOLER

The i7-4770K will be good for encoding. I don't know exactly how fast it will be compared to the FX 8120, though.

In terms of the motherboard, I'd recommend the Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H or the ASUS Maximus VI Hero (or the newer Z97 model, the VII Hero.) It depends on how much you're willing to spend. The ASUS motherboard is a bit more expansive than the Gigabyte one. Have a look at the differences between them yourself and make a decision.

For the GTX 760 you'll need a 600W or a 650W. Personally, I wouldn't go for an EVGA PSU. Something by SeaSonic, Antec, Corsair or XFX would be much better since they are more highly regarded than other PSU brands.

Also, depending on your budget, I'd go for an 80+ Gold or 80+ Platinum efficiency rated PSU. If you'd like to use the PSU for multiple builds then a higher rated power-supply will have an increased chance of lasting for a longer period of time due to the higher quality components. It should also not degrade in efficiency as quickly because of this. The PSU is one component that you shouldn't really skimp on.

Have a look at game benchmarks for the GTX 760 to see how it performs on the games that you want to play.

The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is a good cooler for the price. If you're planning on overclocking then I'd highly recommend investing in a better cooler, preferably an all-in-one water cooler such as the Corsair H80i, H100i or H110i.

Hopefully someone else can help with the questions that I wasn't able to answer properly. :)

if not overclocking go with the xeon 1230v3 but if overclocking the i7-4770k is the way to go. I personally would go for a 150 dollar range motherboard but if you really like to push it to the limit he is right about the expensive boards. For cooler noctua is nice and cool but the evo will do the job.

BTW how did the other board go, did you overclock to death or what?

ty for the input
but you misread a couple things

first off i already have the components mentioned above as i said except
CPU
CPU COOLER
MOTHERBOARD

So i cannot change psu
and as for those mobo i cannot get those as i mentioned above my budget is 400-500$
and i will not go asus to many failures best was 1 year out of it so no thank you on that

and the cpu i said was the i7-4770 not k so i will obviously not be overclocking since its not a unlocked cpu

...

My post or the other. I think the
xeon 1230v3 is the best i7 quality non overclocking processor. Since you are not overclocking or dealing with sli I would recommend a nice h87 motherboard or h97.
IF you want sli or the other added features any 150 dollar range board would suffice. I do know the motherboard with the best features for your purpose, especially since the upper end cater to overclocking. Hope this helps!
Also as stated the hyper evo is nice for a budget but the noctua makes the most sense if not overclocking and silence is an issue.

other guy
ah yeah i didnt even see your post i was still replying to the other guy you
anyway
xeon 1230v3 i never heard of xeon
so
will it perform better then my last cpu amd fx 8120 or no? if so what kind of performance differnce would i see?

and which noctua do uyou suggest?

and the only features i need for a mobo are
4 slots 240 pin ddr3 ram
a gpu pcie x16 gen 3.0
and @ least 6 sata ports
with a usb 3.0 port in the rear more = better but 1 will suffice

and 2 or more fan connectors more = better

so would that be h87 or h 97?

okay so after about 3-5 hours of research on the xeon 1230 v3
i decided on these parts

Cooler
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005O65JXI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

CPU
Intel Xeon E3-1230V3 Haswell,
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D697PEG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Motherboard
ASROCK B85 PRO4 -LGA1150 Intel B85 Chipset
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DPOHLMS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A22WDFGR5I1U9E

now will this be good only 378 with shipping

really good price point

and that i7-4770 is 300$ alone

so 378$ for Motherboard / CPU Cooler and a i7-4770 performing CPU that is most awesome to me
really good price point

now is that motherboard okay
or do i need something better
or is there a better made one that is more reliable and not likely to arrive DOA and just boot up?

also i would like to thank schau314
for recommending the xeon1230 v3
glad you did read tons of reviews and watched some bf4 game play with that cpu also some video editing videos

and thing looks very beastly for 250$
so you saved me a good chunk of money
exactly what i need more more no less
so i am dead set on the xeon now as you can probably tell lol

i think there is nothing wrong with the motherboard. The h87 or h97 is pretty much a copy of the high end boards that cannot overclock.
I would go with a h97 like the fatality if you need the extra features. An extra 10 dollars on a motherboard wouldn't hurt.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?gclid=CjkKEQjwnqucBRDZvf_rk-fEj7wBEiQA8HDLEsv9wMDtsTXQtluZUhIxlr04eWuLuLAGZAptnoyGf_Tw_wcB&Item=N82E16813157511&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Intel+Motherboards-_-N82E16813157511&ef_id=U1PNbwAABAvauLuw:20140601124355:s

This might work. I would go for a trusted motherboard that is well reviewed.

Either will work fine. I'm glad you chose the xeon.
Also you really don't need a cpu cooler unless overclocking. The stock cooler is not really that bad at all. I suggested the noctua since they are more quiet than the stock fans. You could put the money for the cpu cooler into the motherboard.

okay so the CPU does come with a stock cooler was not sure it did not say it did
just to confirm it does?

now will this mobo be okay
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?gclid=CLnyg-Lj2L4CFfJxOgodARIAXw&Item=N82E16813131996&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Intel+Motherboards-_-N82E16813131996&ef_id=U4kB2AAAAD44BmMz:20140601132708:s

my friend has it and will sell it to me for 55$

if not i will go with the 1st link
there are no reviews tho is it reliable or good?

Oh sorry about the links. Must of deleted a character.
I think that you should wonder why your friend is selling, but if he is a good friend of course he will troubleshoot and help you. If it has all the features you need or may want that is a great price for the board. Just makes sure you can depend on him is anything goes wrong, and can get a warranty or have him help with an rma. I think it is a good board for the price. Other opinions will vary. I would not personally pay the price for a new one since they are better options for a little more, but that is a killer price.
I think the cooler comes with it. Do you have a computer store near you if you need to buy one. I;m 99% percent sure intel would get a lot of complaints of heat issues if they didnt sell there 24/7 server chip without a good heatsink.

my friend is good for it he said if it does not work when installed for @ least a week he will refund me when he has cash
and hes gonna come by when i get the CPU to help out and determine if it will work or not so that is all set

hmm only 99% sure
that is not good enough lol just kidding

worse case scenario they do not and i buy the noctua or something not a huge deal

and as for a PC store best around here is best buy not really a PC store but the only one that carry's actual components not any high end stuff tho 30 - 45 minutes away and if they do not have it no one will so online like i have always done

and i can have this on 24/7 on the stock cooler?
never been able to keep a PC on 24/7 so that would be awesome
but there any drawbacks leaving it on 24/7?
dame servers have a lot more features then i relized

in any case found one
seems good its a h87

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00CYWEZXA/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

the b85 motherboard is 8$ more for shipping

and the h87 is free shipping and seems better and cheaper

will be getting this motherboard and CPU in about 1 hour thanks for all the help really much appreciated
you saved me a total of 70-85$

no problem i could not go with the H97 as rock tho it went up in price and i wont spend 140+$
it was 109.99 an 4.98 in change shipping so 115 $ was okay and a good deal but oh well some one beat me to the punch....

also a new PSU just in case mine does not work and will keep as a back up if it does
went with this board tho

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E36XNQ0/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

someone told me its good for this CPU and as for CPU support all has-well CPU that are supported on this motherboard only works with F9 bios so for all them to be same bios including the one i got seems like it will go well as said person told me

also went ahead and bought the CPU cooler 212 evo just in case i would need it or was not happy with stock cooler CPU temps if there is one

so only cost me 400$ for the PC
also got some other stuff for my daughters birthday
and i have about 100$ left to spend on PC so if i need a different part or have to RMA i will be able to RMA it if there is shipping fee and get said part if needed

well in any case seemed like a good plan
and thanks for all the help
also
ill let you know how it goes when i get parts and build it
other that i think i am set until the parts come
oh one more thing do i need my own thermal paste or is the pre-applied stuff okay i heard to many different reviews and recommendations people would be like 50/50 said yes and no?
